Description: Location: Oakville Yacht Squadron
The Coach Boat Safety course is a practical, on-water safety course that will prepare coaches for possible emergencies. At the end of the clinic you will take away the skills needed to manage those situations. You will be given scenarios on the water that will be similar to situations you will need to react to as a coach.

Participants will be sent course material electronically prior to the start of the course. It is expected that coaches review this material prior to the course.

It is strongly recommended that you complete your First Aid course before Coach Boat Safety.

Prerequisites:
Pleasure Craft Operator Card (MUST BRING CARD TO COURSE)
Basic Swimming skills and ability to handle a small motorized craft

Boat Safety Course Expires every 3 years

You will need to bring:
- approved PFD
- drysuit or wetsuit, hat, gloves/mits
- boots
- warm, dry change of clothing (may need more than 1)
- towel
- lunch
- water
- sunscreen

Cost:
A one-time payment of $137.85 (includes HST). Your registration confirmation will come from programs@ontariosailing.ca and your receipt will come from sales@ontariosailing.ca. If you have not received your receipt after the clinic has started, please check your junk mail filter settings to ensure that emails from Ontario Sailing aren't being redirected there.

PLEASE NOTE THAT YOUR SPOT IN THE COURSE IS NOT GUARANTEED UNTIL FULL PAYMENT HAS BEEN RECEIVED.

If you have not received confirmation emails from Ontario Sailing please check that your email address is correct in your profile. Also check your junk mail filter settings to ensure that emails from Ontario Sailing are not being redirected there.

Ontario Sailing reserves the right to cancel any program if the minimum number of participants is not reached. In this event, applicants will be given a refund via their original method of payment. Refunds may be made for registrant withdrawals made up to 10 days prior to the start of the course; however these are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. After that date, no refunds will be issued. Registrants may transfer courses up to 10 days prior to the start of the course; however there is a $25 administration fee to transfer.

I understand that it is a condition of my participating in this program that I do so at my own risk. Therefore in consideration of my acceptance of entry into this program, I agree to save harmless and keep indemnified Ontario Sailing, the host club or organization, the Canadian Yachting Association, the organizers and their respective agents, officials, servants and representatives from and against all claims, actions, costs, expenses and demands in respect to death, injury, loss or damage to my person or property, howsoever caused, arising out of or in connection with my taking part in this program, not withstanding that the same may have been contributed to or caused or occasioned by the negligence of the same bodies, or any of them, or their agents officials, servants or representatives. I further understand and agree that this release is binding upon myself, my heirs, executors and assigns. I understand that photographs and videos taken of program participants, staff may be used for promotional purposes and I hereby consent to such by Ontario Sailing.
