It is recommended that each participant bring a current Racing Rules of Sailing book, paper and writing utensils. If you do not have a current Rules Book, you can purchase one from Ontario Sailing by contacting 1-888-672-7245 ext. 223 or sales@ontariosailing.ca . Lunch is the responsibility of the participant although lunch will be available for purchase from The Galley Restaurant @ NSC on the day of the course. Content: Level 1 (Assistant Race Officer) Theory Duties and responsibilities of: Recorder Timer Flag Officer Sound Signaler Line Judge Basic compass skills Setting and maintaining start/finish lines Prerequisites: None Level 2 (Club Race Officer) Theory Duties and responsibilities of leading a Race Management Team Regatta Organization Compass Skills - Calculating race course Prerequisite: Level 1 Please note: Club Race Officer (CRO) Certification requires participation in a 2-day Level 1&2 Race Officer course, experience as a Race Officer as well as the submission of an application for approval by the Ontario Sailing Race Management Committee.
